This workshop gives an overview and insight into data visualisation and infographic skills. The sessions will cover core concepts of visual perception, storytelling through data and software applications for visualisation. It will introduce RAWGraphs, an open source tool that makes use of existing data to create visually appealing infographics and data representations.

Valentina is a designer, illustrator, and creative director based in London. After leading the design team at Signal Noise, a data design agency part of the Economist Group, she recently returned to run her own practice full-time.Pursuing imaginative and compelling visual language, her practice focuses on information design and data visualisation and my work takes many forms – from theatre productions and exhibitions to editorial content and interactive platforms.In 2013, she published The Infographic History of the World. The book is the result of a collaboration with data-journalist James Ball.
