This workshop will
guide the participants through all the phases of a data visualization project:
selection of a topic, data analysis and visual representation. Special
attention will be on the design of a visual narrative. We will be focusing on
the participants’ interests and inclinations, both on the contents and on the
visual aspects in order to create a clear, visually appealing visualization.
Participants will be
offered through Google Sheets some datasets to choose from, according to their
personal interests and inclinations. After a phase of visual exploration they
will be guided to the visualization phase hand-drawing the data visualization
or using Adobe Illustrator.
The aim will be to design a visual narrative using the communicative potential of data visualization, with an eye on visual experimentation.
